Reality Check:
When permissions disappear in a jungle of systems
Every system maintains its own data, and every integration was built individually at some point. Without end-to-end connectivity, what should be a simple change quickly becomes duplicated work across several places at once. And as soon as a system does not fit into the standard pattern, many IAM solutions reach their limits.
Duplicate data maintenance across multiple systems
HR and IT maintain the same data twice. This leads to errors and delays.
Hybrid landscapes without a unified view
An on-premises directory here, a cloud service there: without central integration, IT loses visibility into who has which access and where.
File server and mailbox permissions remain manual work
Access to drives, project folders and mailboxes is often maintained separately, detached from the actual identity process.
Dependence on individual vendors
Organizations that lock themselves into a closed system world lose flexibility as soon as their IT strategy, a system or a vendor changes.

Your system integrations with the IDM-Portal

Directories as a reliable foundation
Your directory, centrally maintained: on-premises, cloud or both
FirstWare IDM-Portal connects with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID or other directory services such as Keycloak. Changes to identities and groups take effect in real time, regardless of whether you work on-premises, in the cloud or in a hybrid environment.
Through the my-IAM platform, you can access directories quickly and benefit from shorter update cycles than with traditional synchronization.
HR systems as the source of your identities
Entered once, up to date everywhere
Whether Loga3, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP HCM, Personio or Sage: FirstWare IDM-Portal imports employee data directly from your HR system and automatically keeps it synchronized with Active Directory, Entra ID and all other connected systems. Additional IT information missing from the HR system, such as permission groups or licenses, can be maintained directly in the portal.
Does your organization use an HR system that is not listed here? Flexible CSV, SQL or API integrations make it possible to connect virtually any source of personnel data.

Mail and file servers:
permissions in the same process
Mailboxes and drives, no longer managed separately
When you create a new employee in FirstWare IDM-Portal, the matching mailbox is created automatically in Exchange, on-premises or online. When someone leaves the organization, the portal also controls mailbox handover.
The same applies to file servers: access to drives, project folders, SharePoint areas or cloud storage such as OneDrive is automatically assigned and revoked based on employee data, instead of being maintained separately.
Every business application
seamlessly integrable
Depth instead of standard: integration that fits your system landscape
In addition to directories, HR systems and Microsoft 365, further business and industry applications can be connected via SQL interfaces, CSV import/export or custom API connectors. This means your IDM-Portal is not limited to a fixed list of standard systems, but grows with your actual IT landscape, including legacy systems and specialized solutions.
This helps you avoid isolated solutions and remain independent of individual vendors.

Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently asked questions about system integrations, directory services, HR systems and the integration of your business applications with FirstWare IDM-Portal.
What does system integration mean in an IAM context?
System integration describes connecting an IAM solution with an organization’s existing IT systems, such as directories, HR systems or business applications, so identities and permissions can be maintained centrally and synchronized automatically.
Which HR systems can be connected to FirstWare IDM-Portal?
Common integrations include Loga3, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP HCM, Personio and Sage. Additional HR systems can also be integrated via CSV, SQL or API interfaces.
Does the IDM-Portal also work with Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365?
Yes. Using its own RealIdentity and RealGroup technology, the portal accesses Entra ID directly, including M365 group management, license assignment and Teams memberships.
What happens if our system is not included in the standard list?
SQL integrations, CSV import/export and custom API connectors make it possible to integrate virtually any application, including legacy systems and specialized solutions.
How does system integration support a hybrid IT landscape?
The portal connects local directories, cloud services and business applications into a unified view, regardless of where an identity is originally managed.
Does more flexibility also mean more implementation effort?
No. Preconfigured integrations for the most common systems ensure a fast start, while custom connectors are used where standard solutions reach their limits.
